DOUBLE SPACE

“Excellent debut album… which is probably the most significant piece of music recorded in this country in the last decade... Brilliant compositions including weird time signatures and unexpected twists and turns… The vocals… are expressive and very sensitive to the complex lyrics. The maturity and the intellectual stamina of this project are truly astounding, especially in view of the young age of its participants… This is another most welcome addition to the local scene.“

Israeli band Double Space plays original musical settings of Israeli poems by renowned Israeli poets, alongside instrumental pieces. Their music is diverse and eclectic, influenced by classical music, jazz, progressive rock and world music.
In January 2006, Double Space released their debut album, Windings. The album was self-produced, with the entire music and arrangements written by two of the members, Gilad Cohen and Zohar Sharon. In 2010, Windings was chosen by the Israeli Kol Ha-Campus Radio (106FM) as one of the best progressive rock albums of the decade.

For the CD, over 20 guest artists joined in on instruments such as flute, oboe, recorder, oud, and melodica as well as 3 background vocalists and a children choir.

Double Space are:
Gilad Cohen - voice, bass, acoustic guitars and keyboards.
Zohar Sharon - voice, piano and keyboards.
Yakir Sasson - saxophones.
Nadav Rogel - drums, percussion and vocals.
